:18 Project
For 18 months, from July 2004 through January 2006, I took two photographs -- one of my face and the other of my surrounding environment -- on the 18th minute of each hour of every day.
My initial motivation to begin this project came from a desire to remember my life. To come out of my head for a moment or two every hour and take note of where I was in the physical world, to become aware of my feet on the ground. I see the project as a meditation, a ritual and a commitment added to a less committed life.
This collection of images reflects some recent interpretations of the project.

There is also a site dedicated just to :18 Project. [LINK]
the american way
This on going project reflects my attraction to the way we decorate space. Parking lot saints, highway reflectors, fast food icons, vibrating tvs, both glossy and colorful, dot our collective horizon.
I love the layers revealed in these places and hope to organize this visual clutter.
